Terraces, semis and new estates

Close to the centre, around Bishopthorpe Road and South Bank, the streets are lined with tight Victorian terraces, front doors close to the pavement and sash windows that need careful pole work rather than brute force. Clifton and Heworth are mostly semis, a bit more space to work with and gardens front and back. Further out, newer estates around Rawcliffe and Huntington bring bigger glazing units and easier vehicle access, which speeds the visit up considerably.
