The person behind D&G
About
David
Twenty years on the poles, a professional pure water system, and a straightforward promise: I turn up, I do it right, and I'm honest about the price. That's it.
How it started
Twenty years on the glass
I started cleaning windows in 2006 in London. I was young, I wanted to work for myself, and I found a trade where the quality of your work speaks for itself — literally, you can see it from the street. I've been doing it ever since.
From London I moved up through West Yorkshire and then across Yorkshire, building up rounds, getting to know the villages and the kinds of properties you find up here. I worked one particular patch in the Harrogate, York and Castleford area for over three years and built up a round I was proud of — regular customers who knew what to expect and got it every time.
Life took me elsewhere for a while. Now I'm back, set up under a new name, and reopening my round in the same area. If you had your windows done by me before, I'd love to have you back. If you're new to me, I hope the work speaks for itself.
Why it matters to me
Quality and honesty.
Not optional.
01
You get me — not a crew
When you book with D&G, I'm the one who turns up. I don't send out workers I've hired that morning. I know your round, I know your windows, and if something looks wrong I notice — because I'm the one doing the work. That consistency matters more than most people realise.
02
Professional deionised water system
I use a professional pure water reach-and-wash system. The water is deionised — stripped of minerals — so when it dries on your glass there's nothing left behind. No soap, no squeegee marks, no residue. Just clean glass. It's the same system the best window cleaners use, and once you've seen the results it's hard to go back to anything else.
03
Honest about what I can do
I don't quote a low number to get the job and adjust it when I arrive. I quote properly, from photos or in person, and that's the price. If a job is outside my scope or not something I can do to the standard I'd be happy with, I'll tell you — and I'll tell you before I've taken any money.
04
Twenty years of standards
I've been doing this since 2006. I've cleaned sash windows in London townhouses, Victorian terraces in West Yorkshire, and every kind of modern house in between. Experience isn't a substitute for care — but it does mean I've seen most things, and I know how to handle them.
Back in Yorkshire
If you remember me — I'm back.
I spent years building a round in this part of Yorkshire. My van was kitted out and well-known in the area, and I had customers who'd been with me since the beginning. I left to pursue something else, but this is the trade I know and the area I know, and I've come back to do it properly.
If you picked up one of my leaflets and something feels familiar — a name, a logo, a van you remember — you're probably right. Give me a call. I'd love to pick up where we left off.
