Vacuum clearing from the ground

A pole-fed vacuum system pulls leaves, moss and silt straight out of the gutter run while we work from the ground or a low platform — no ladder resting against a fascia board that was never built to take one. It’s quicker to set up than a ladder job and covers more of the run in a single pass.

We can run a camera up the downpipe and along the gutter line so you can actually see what came out and confirm the run’s clear and correctly pitched, rather than just taking our word for it.

When to clear

Autumn is the obvious trigger, once the leaves are down and gutters start to choke. North-facing roofs — especially older stone and slate — tend to shed moss steadily through the year, which silts up a gutter far more slowly and easily than most people expect. Overflowing joints after a heavy storm are usually the first visible sign that a clear is overdue.

What we remove

Leaves, moss, silt and general debris that builds up over a season — cleared out and bagged, not left in a pile on your lawn.

Downpipe check

Once the run’s clear we flush the downpipes to confirm water’s actually reaching the drain rather than backing up somewhere out of sight.

What clearing isn’t

Clearing isn’t repair. If we find a sagging bracket, a cracked joint or a section that’s pulling away from the fascia, we’ll tell you plainly rather than pretend a clear-out has fixed it, and point you toward a roofer who can. Honesty about what we can and can’t do is worth more to us than pretending otherwise.
